With direct to garment printing the printer needs to lay down a white underbase or silhouette or you design, it does this so that the next layer (color) that it lays down will be bright and vibrant. It is that white ink that adds to the cost of the shirt.

There are a lot of things that people are not aware of when designing for a shirt. -Always outline your fonts when working with illustrator file When placing your design into adobe illustrator and your font isn't outlined adobe can't read the font and will replace it with a plain font that the program will provide. -The printer will print exactly what you give it If you send us a .JPG that has a background and you do not want it to print it, the background must be cropped out. -Printing a design onto a colored t-shirts When you have 100% white in your design the printer reads it as no color, so where ever there is 100% white it will not print and show the color of the shirt.
